Cubs breaking down?

Cubs got blown out by the D-Backs.

Their bullpen was horrible today and the offense is non-existent.

they are just going through a small slump as soon as soriano gets back some guys can get some rest and hopefully will start to heat up and soriano can help carry them

It's a long season that will have its ups and downs - things are never as good as they seem when the team is playing well nor as bad as they seem when they are struggling.

When they get back to Chicago, I suspect they'll turn it around again.

Relax. Everyone is freaking out over a couple of games. Every team has slumps throughout the year, nobody can have a perfect season, it's just not possible. They haven't played well on the road all year, yet they haven't moved from 1st place in the division and have still managed to keep one of the best records in baseball. Right now nobody on the team is hitting which makes it impossible to push runs across the plate. Trust me, the hitters will start heating up again and Soriano will be back and the Cubs will continue their winning ways this year.

haha, on the contrary to all you cub apologists out there - you are witnessing the beginning of the end. This isn't a slump, its called coming back to reality. They are an average team, with below average pitching thats been pitching at a level way above their heads, Their bullpen is nothing special. The bats are good, but true to cub tradition classic underachievers, and that will start to come out more during this second half collapse. And their coach hasn't won anything in like a decade. So cubs fans, the bright side is you had a great half a year, take pride in that, love it, you deserve it, and then realize you also deserve for your team to tumble back mediocrity cuz you all cocky and thought this was the year . . . . . . again. oops

Yeah, it just a slump in a heated battle for first place. Yeah, granted the Cubs are in still first place, HAVE YOU SEEN THE STANDINGS LATELY!!!!! At the All Star Break they had a 4.5 lead in the division and now lead it by one. Besides Sundays blowout in Houston, they've only managed to score 4 runs in 4 games. Hopefully things will get better with Soriano but it takes time to come back from a wrist injury, just look at Derek Lee a few years ago. Pinella needs to shake things up in the line up. Cubs can't execute on poor pitchers and Derek Lee is killing us hitting into league leading double plays

The Cubs are on the road. They've been doing this all season long. They've struggled on the road, then they go home, and win almost every game on the homestand. I'm a Cubs fan and I'm not worried one bit.

Their offense is in a slump which everyy team goes thru once in a while    Their offense will get back within 5 games (hopefully)

The bullpen that was horrible was just Kevin Hart (who is just a tack on reliever who we put in  in games like this and Sean Marshall who hasnt played in a while so he showed some rust.

Being a frickin frustrated Cubs fan  the only thing I can hope is that we get back to our winning ways...and soon

it's just one game sir...no need to panic, their offense will be back up and running especially when soriano returns, and as long as kerry wood returns to the back end of the pen soon they'll be fine there as well

Just throwing the Brewers and Cardinals fans a bone right now. One month from now Cubs will lead by 4 over the Brewers and 6 over the Cardinals.

It's just one game. The Mets blew a 5-2 lead in the 9th to the Phils so I am very depressed..but it's only one game...lol
