  1. No because they only reason they still have Wrigley and Fenway now is because they can't put those stadiums any were else than they are right now.

  2. I would hope not, but the tribune is selling wrigley field and the cubs, so whoever buys it has complete control over it. If they ever sold it their ticket prices would go way down because wrigley field is pretty much a tourist attraction and i know i would be pretty mad if they ever tore it down.

responding to your editional details.... what are you talking about? Wrigley isn't cracking or crumbling and its still bringing in full stadiums of people. I haven't seen one crack in it, and it is a historical monument. How bout getting rid of fenway??

  3. Not anytime soon but we must never say never.

  4. The only answer that seems reasonable is;

    "WHY" ???

Just do what was done at Fenway, continue to improve your treasured historical identity.

  5. No....Wrigley field is an institution.

As long as it holds up it will continue to be a cash cow.

It is far more popular than the cubs.

People will fill up Wrigley regardless of the Club's wins and losses.

  6. Wrigley field is a hugh part of the attraction to the Cubs. If they ever replace Wrigley Field, they will be just another team.

  7. No. At least not in the near future(meaning 20 years).  Wrigley Field will remain standing even as a landmark stadium.  Potentially what might happen is that the owners of the Cubs may get in a situation where they feel that they are losing potential revenue for playing in a small ballpark.  In that case, they will just build some kind of super stadium of the future for the current team.  They probably would have to build it in the Chicago burbs though.  That would totally change the atmosphere of Wrigleyville and I'm sure alot of the residents would protest it but money is money.  Again, this is a NON issue for the Cubs at this point and it may not even happen in our lifetimes!!

  8. No way, Wrigley shall live on!

  9. No time soon. There are already plans to refurbish Wrigley and to also construct a building adjacent to it. This building would be linked via tunnel and include a modern club house for the players among other fan friendly amenities.  Besides Cubs fans have unrelenting will and aren't scared of little things like falling cement. At least until it falls on someone I care for.http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/chc/ballpark...

  10. if the field is playable and it doesn't collapse then i think they should continue playing in it. It's a piece of baseball history and they should use it for the longest they can

  11. why mess with perfection? somebody said it was a tourist attraction maybe so but they also have one of the better drawing teams ....you wouldnt tear down the white house or state capital building leave wrigley alone...tear  down white sox park

  12. i think they will build one sometime in the next 10-15 years. it really depends on the red sox because  the cubs want to be the team with the longest stadium span or something like that. i think that the new one would have the first and second features that you have.

  13. Dear "Yahoo,"

You got it all wrong.  It is not that the cubs "have to be playing" in their field; rather, they get the special privilege of playing in the classic, timeless, most wonderful field in the league.

All those things you mention are really unnecessary.  When you're at Wrigley, you don't mind narrow aisles or old school concessions.  The atmosphere is magic and all that other stuff at the newer fields is just cosmetic and really just there to attract apathetic fans.  Say what you want about Cubs fans, but you can never call them apathetic.

Fans would revolt if the new owners decided to rebuild, especially if that meant moving the "Chicago" team to a suburb.  It would be a tragedy, and I doubt it will happen in this generation.  At least I really hope not.

  14. Yea when the old one falls apart!
