  1. let me just say this is just not cub fans but its all baseball fans.

New york lady runs over a boston red sox fan and he dies

boston man beats someone up from newyork

    cubs fan beating now

    what going to happen next?

  2. wow I'm shocked to hear this one and I'm a White Sox fan.

Strange that living in Chicago I didn't know about this. It's rather disgusting and stupid if you ask me no matter what team's fan did it it's wrong.

  3. Yea I heard of that too! It happened earlier this month in Huntley at a child's birthday party. Crazy!

But that is not an example of all Cubs fans.

Probably just 3 drunk idiots and one victim.

  4. Wow, I had never heard about that.

I'm a Cubs fan, but it's a shame that anything like that can even happen just because they like different teams. It's just a game, I don't get why some people do that kind of stuff.

edit: wow, just read the article Mechanic posted. That's sad, I mean extremely sad. Makes me embarrassed to be a Cubs fan right now.

  5. This type of stuff seems to happen with all teams fans, some not to this extreme and some much worse than this, at a Raiders game a few years back a group of Raiders fans stomped a man to death for wearing his steelers jacket to the game (it was not even agianst the Steelers)...fans get rather insane about their teams, add in large amounts of booze and a low IQ to begin with and you have a recipe for disaster.

By the way, telling them that you blocked them in this question doesnot do much good because they can no longer look at the question, it just makes you look bad.

Nothing says fun like Vodka, Beer and ELMO!!!  THis is why there should be a license to have children...morons are polluting the gene pool!

Being a Phillies fan I take a lot of flack for some of the morons and misnomers about the actions of fans...we all take hits on our teams reputation when actions like this occur.

  6. that sounds more like something a Red Sox fan would do to a Yankees fan or vise versa.

  7. Fozzy, it's really not very difficult to search for news stories.

    http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/07/2...

  8. Tempers can run wild when a team can't remember the last time they won a World Series.

  9. now thats a story

i read mechanic's article and its credible, but my question to the parents is why was there beer and vodka at a "sesame street themed" party for an infant

cant some people hold off on the booze for one day??

  10. That's ridiculous.  I'm a Cubs fan and hate the White Sox as much as the next guy, but I would never take it to the physical level.  This is a very classless act and I do feel for the Sox fan.  It doesn't matter if it's the Cubs or any other major league team, you're going to find a few idiots in the group, that's just the way the world is.  I can't believe that I'm from Chicago and didn't hear of this at all.  From the sound of it a lot of people didn't know of this, the local news must not have done a good job with the coverage for so many people to not hear of this incident.  Please don't judge all Cubs fans by these 3 guys retarded actions.  We're not all bad and I must say that I'm embaressed to be a Cubs fan right now.

  11. I'm going to need to see a source as well.  If true, I'm assuming self defense.

Jackson F - thumbsed up and added.

  12. You got an actual source for this? I'm from Chicago and haven't heard a thing.

Or is this just a figment of an overactive imagination?

Edit - Thanks mechanic - I just couldn't find the right combination of words I guess - this story didn't come up for me. And my apologies to you AJ for doubting you.

As for the story itself, while I have to wonder somewhat why a Sesame Street party needed to have beer and vodka, (as Sandman pointed out) I also have to question why anyone would possibly think that they should over indulge at a 2 year old's party.

And what's even more embarrassing is that there are actually a couple of Cubs fans that have already defended the actions of these boneheads. (perhaps in jest, but still ridiculous) Anyone who feels that this is the way to handle something as insignificant as who your favorite team is obviously has a sick sense of what is important. And unfortunately, people who behave this way will just find another reason to pick a fight if there aren't any Sox fans around.

Call me embarrassed to even be thought of as a fan of the same team as this collective group of complete morons.
