Cue Card prepared for the challenge in William Hill King George VI Chase
Cue Card seems pretty much prepared for the William Hill King George VI Chase at Kempton in England. The event is scheduled to take place after Christmas and it has attracted some high quality runners from all over the United Kingdom.
Although, there are some big names in the entry list, yet Cue Card does not seem worried at all, as his performances in recent times have been impressive. His overall record is a brilliant one and he will look to continue making his team proud in Graded
races.
The six-year-old gelding made his seasonal debut in January 2010 and he was impressive right from his very first outing. He was not given the highest odds for a victory back then, but took everyone by a surprise in the end.
Not only did he win the race, he emerged at the top by a clear margin of six lengths, which was quite impressive.
Straight away after his impressive debut, he was sent into a Grade 1 contest at Cheltenham, where he was up against some might performers. Apparently, he stood not chance against them and the bookies had priced him 40 to 1.
However, the Colin Tizzard’s trainee shocked his rivals with a superb run in the all important competition. He finished first by eight lengths and defeated the likes of Al Ferof and Shot From The Hip.
He followed that up with a couple of more strong victories and it seemed that he would remained undefeated in his first ever season.
Things did not work out as planned for Mrs Jean R. Bishop’s owned stallion, as he had to settle for the runner up position in the final race of 2010. Despite that, his team would have been proud of his achievements.
During the next year, he did have a few ups and downs, but still managed to add a couple of more victories to his tally.
He has appeared in just a couple of events in the ongoing season and did a very good job in them. He has now set his sights on the William Hill King George VI Chase, which will take place on Wednesday, December 26.
Long Run and Al Ferof will definitely give a tough time to Cue Card, but he will not fear them and will give another spirited performance under his favourite jockey, Joe Tizzard, who has been accompanying him since the start of his career.
