  1. Well, Predator shafts do exactly what they say they do: They reduce the deflection of the cue ball when using english. The only thing up for debate is whether or not that helps you that much. Many great players prefer the feel and consistency of a solid hitting shaft, even if it has a high deflection rating. My main playing cue for several years was a Predator, and now I prefer the standard shaft on my custom cue, but much of that is due to a change in playing style. If you are interested, I suggest you try one out and decide for yourself. A Predator shaft will not magically make you pocket balls, but it may be the best shaft for you.

  2. I'd go with an OB-1 instead of the Predator.  I've played with one a few times where my wife works (a billiard supply store) and the hit and feel with the OB-1 is far superior to any other shaft I've played with.

    Good luck.

  3. Great players can win with broom sticks.  The cue doesnt make the player, its practice that makes the player.

  4. In my opinion, Predator shafts do reduce a noticeable amount of cue ball deflection when using English.  There is still some deflection.  It's impossible to reduce all of it.  The real question is, do you want to become overly reliant on a particular shaft when playing with sidespin?  Frankly, I believe that it's better to learn to compensate for cue ball deflection with a regular shaft than it is to try and eliminate the problem with a special shaft.  I've seen people who play almost exclusively with Predator shafts who do amazing things, only to play poorly when they have to play with a house cue, even if it's straight and has a good tip.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

  5. Well Bill

It depends on who is building them up they are not a magic wand  but a good shaft I have 2 but on average dont shoot any better with them.

If I want to go under cover I use a Meucci pre dot on my Pete I think its a better hit
