Hi I am Lian-Li, I am 25 and full chinese. Me and my partner Conor (full Irish) are expecting our 3rd child together at the end of december. So far we have two young daughters. Cai (chinese meaning of full of color) LÃÂle (the irish form of Lily) who is 5 and Jia-Li (pronounced Jah lee chinese meaning of good and beautiful) Siobhan (Irish of Jeanne)who is 3. So as you have probably gathered we are trying to keep as much of both of our cultures as we can with our daughters. A mix of both of our cultures (Irish and Chinese) have made our girls who they are and we plan to keep going on like this with our son. We celebrate both cultures celebrations - such as chinese new year and St. Patricks day etc. Also me and Conor both speak fluent Chinese, Irish Gaelic and English. We are trying to pass this on to our children with Cai (5) already speaking english and we are teaching her Chinese and Irish gaelic between us.Also our daughters names are taken from both sides as we fell this will help them understand their background.(Cai LÃÂle and Jai-Li Siobhan)We were just wondering what you thought on this and whether culture plays a big part in your lifes.ThanksLian-Li and Conor x
