Cumberland cruise to victory against Shropshire with six wickets (Duckworth/Lewis method): Group One match of the MCCA Trophy
Cumberland won a rain affected Group One match of the MCCA Trophy against Shropshire by six wickets (Duckworth/http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 on Sunday, June 5, 2011.
Although Shropshire posted a very decent total of 286 runs, their chances to win the match were reduced by rain. Cumberland’s target was revised to 119 from 15 overs and they achieved it easily in the end, losing just four batsmen.

However, Shropshire’s captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Edward-John-Foster-c55412 was joined by Robert Foster, who put together 75 runs for the third wicket partnership. The latter got out after scoring 34 runs for his team from 59 balls.
The Shropshire skipper played exceptionally well for his team, scoring 71 runs, but he failed to continue further. He was dismissed in the 38th over of the innings, but laid a solid platform for the lower-order batsmen of his side.
Tom Cox and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Cox-c51633 was dismissed after collecting 60 runs from 57 deliveries with the help of eight fours and one huge six.
Wicketkeeper batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Richard-Kenneth-Oliver-c85165, gave a strong finish to his team, as he smashed 28 runs from 10 deliveries in the death overs.
