Cumberland sausage is traditionally one long untwisted sausage (probably about the equivalent length of 3 or 4 conventional sausages), wound into a spiral and with quite a strong herb flavouring generally unsuited to breakfast.

It does however work very well as part of a lunch or dinner meal with various forms of mashed potato and onion or mushroom gravy.
