  1. I think it would be one of the greatest fights ever.

My heart would root for Cung Le, but my money would be on Silva by decision or ko.

    James

  2. Anderson silva by TKO via ground n pound. Cung Lee is a good fighter, but against Silva, nope he doesnt stand a chance. h**l, he might even go down like irvin, throwing a kick first, Silva catches it, than bam a cross right to Cung's chin. Than ground n pound, ref runs in, Silva remains king

  3. I would go with Silva,  he has more experience in MMA and is better on the ground.  I think standing would be about even,  Cung is pretty hard to hit because he can keep people off him with his kicks but Silva has fast hands.  I don't think Silva's clinch would work against Cung because his Sanshou experience makes him really hard to grab.  Shamrock couldn't grab him and that guys ripped.  I wouldn't under estimate Cung though,  his kicks hurt people and you just never know how they match up.

  4. Silva.  Cung Le is very one dimensional.

  5. YA Cung le is a good fighter, and so is GSP, but they have 1 weakness that Anderson doesn't have.....their human, and Silva is ares the god of war. it's sad, I like Cung le better tho.

  6. I'll take Silva, and I dont think it would be that close. Le has a phenominal kicking game but he hasnt fought someone like Silva who is probably just as good with the legs and better with his hands than anyone Le has fought. On top of that you throw in the clinch work and the fact that Le has never fought anyone even close to Silva's level on the ground and the fact that Ive never seen Silva look even remotely hurt by a stike, I think Silva handles Le pretty well.

  7. SPIDER--HE IS SO AWESOME--CANT BEAT HIM--

  8. Silva, Silva has the reach advantage and he's stronger.  Plus Silva has an iron jaw, if you've seen the video of nogueira (heavyweight) sparring with anderson, you will realize this.

  9. Silva wins! Lets face it, it is extremely difficult for anybody to effectively strike Silva on his feet. He is so quick and elusive that rarely does anybody land a good blow on him. Therefore Le stands no chance. The only way he could win the fight is with kicks, but Silva will close the distance, put Le on his back and force a ref stoppage. Le just doesn't have the experience or ground game necessary for him to compete with Silva.

  10. Silva's a beat but Cung Le isn't bad himself. His kicks are strong, the first kick he sent to shamrock broke his arm he just couldn't feel it cuz 1. adrenaline and 2. it was in the process of breaking, along with all the other kicks that came to him.

Silva would probably beat him though, although I'd root Cung Le all the way cuz he's my favorite MMA fighter personally.

But yeah it would be a good matchup.

  11. I'd actually take Cung Le. No one so far has been able to translate Sanshou kickboxing into MMA like he has. I would love to see this fight. Talking about dream match up.

  12. Cung le is overrated.  He beat an over-the-hill Frank Shamrock largely because Shamrock was fighting with a knee injury that prevented him from shooting.  I think Silva would win easily.

  13. Good call!  You get an interesting star.

I'd say Silva.  He'd beat Cung Le with his long limbs.   He can use him arms to space himself on their feet and his legs to space himself if Cung Le takes him down and gets caught in his guard.  Silva is also stronger at his traditional western boxing and grappling skills - probably from training with the Noguiera brothers - one of which is the UFC Heavyweight Champion and one of which is the Brazilian Heavyweight Boxing Champion.

That said, anybody can end a fight at anytime with a hard kick.  Cung Le could pull a Gabriel Gonzaga with no problem at all.  Le is one of the most powerful kickers in MMA.

  14. Anderson Silva EASILY. Cung Le leaves his hands down and is very hittable. Against somebody as precise and powerful as Anderson, keeping your fists at chest-level is suicidal. Cung Le has better/more versatile kicks, but he lacks KO power and The Spider's chin is pretty good. (Yes, Cung Le has KO'd people, but its always cumulative. Anderson, on the other hand, can cause major damage with just a couple of shots (or just one at LHW).

Furthermore, Anderson attacks in vicious combinations, while Le often settles for single attacks. Considering Anderson's impeccable defense, I doubt that Cung could put him in any danger; the reverse cannot be said.

One thing that Cung Le has over Anderson Silva is kick-catching. I wouldn't be remotely surprised if Cung managed to perform some Sanda takedowns off of a caught kick. However, since he's completely outclassed on the ground, that would do little more than give Le some points -- which are inconsequential unless he survives for 25 minutes.
