Im a cupcake fanatic from south africa. Usually what I do is bake flavoured cupcakes [banana or double chocolate etc] and buy a Pillsbury frosting tin and ice the cakes with that. I havent been able to find this frosting anywhere in a month and one of our stores just told me that Pillsbury frosting isnt going to be imported into south africa anymore :( so now im stuck with cupcakes that need to be frosted for a school event. I decorate them with edible glitter and edible beads and elaborate decorations - all which stick perfectly to the Pillsbury frosting. So Im going to have to just make frosting ... the question is ... Which frosting is better when it comes to decorations - buttercream or fondant - I make buttercream regularly and the pillsbury frosting resembles a gloassy buttercram, but Ive never worked with fondant but Im curious about it Anyone with frosting experience please help!Thanks!
