Which of the following curcuits can be used to measure the resistance of the heating element, shown as a resistor in these diagrams?

If the diagrams look weird at first, just click on the picture, then click on the little box that shows up with arrows in the bottom right corner. That should clear them up. Hopefully I drew them pretty easy to understand. Thanks for the help.

  1. if you remember that an ammeter has no resistance and a volt meter has (theoretically infinite resistance) you can see that B would be a short circuit, A would be an open circuit. and in C the ammeter would read nothing because no current passes through a volt meter.

    measuring resistance:

    V=IR

    R=V/I

    you need a value for I and V to calculate R so C wont work.

    that only leaves D
