Curent thoughts on "Global Cooling"?

Now that we had the coldest winter world wide since 2001, it's clear the slight warming trend we've been experiencing for the last 30 years is over.

What do you attribute the reversal in temperatures to? Do you think the cooler climate is due to natural causes, or do you think that man's reductions in green house gases is the cause for global cooling?

  1. It's a strong La Nina.

A strong and prolonged La Nina happened during the MWP though it did not offset the temperature increase.

We're heading right along the same path we traveled then, but because the other side doesn't want to admit a warmer MWP for political reasons, an honest inquiry that might shed some light on what's going on can't happen.

  2. Here is an article form Richard Lidzen that explains how since 1997 (not 1998 the El Nino year) we have not have a statistically significant rise in temperatures.

  3. Ask why did the previous Ice Ages happen?

Could the 'convection currents' carrying the heat from the Earth's core (9000 degrees) have slowed and sealed the very thin crust under the oceans?

Why is this ocean heat anomaly located on the 'Pacific Ring of Fire':

Judging from this graph = scientists can't seem to figure out if we are in an El Nino or La Nina?!?!

For sure there is a 'hot spot' in the south western Pacific pumping out lots of CO2.

  4. Did not notice it any colder here in the uk,infact i`d say it was a typical winter (hardly any snow)

  5. I think Al Gore will have to come up with a new version of "Inconvenient Truth"

  6. Global warming enthusiasts are really out there...  I thought scientology and hale bop took the cake but when someone asks for billions of dollars in research money to prove global warming, but they already packaged, sealed and stamped the pseudo-science as true, then we are in a very sad state.

Global warming can't even pass the day and night test!  Last night I was working as a Los Angeles Police Officer, as I have done for ten years and felt really, really chilly.

I went to my Global warming jar experiment, which consisted of a hot liquid (scientifically proven to have more thermal dynamic qualities than CO2) contained in my greenhouse (thermos) and it was freakin cold.

So, I am having to work over a body with a cold freakin cup of coffee, then it dawned on me right as the coroner was stabbing that 18 inch thermometer in dude's side....  Where does the heat go?

Seriously, global warm spastics have been touting this 10 year, 20 year and 30 year CO2 impact thing, but where does the heat go as it cools at night?  I sat and pondered as I was trying to figure out how Julio got the hole in his head, how CO2 COULD potentially lend to heating anything.  Especially since my freakin coffee got so cold so quickly...  Then I realized....

In order for CO2 to ever impact and heat anything else, it would have to store or retain that heat somehow.  It would seriously have to fill it's nucleus with sadlebags of thermal energy and hold it through a cold night.  Then, the next day, it would have to suddenly time itself to contribute at least a portion of that energy to the heat that's being sent from the sun on that day.

    That simply can't happen!

Then, another possibility would be the tag team theory.  This is where CO2 gets heated up during the day and tag teams all night long, as it cools, because it does cool, believe me.  It would have to somehow heat leaves and make them stay warm, which would then heat something, then heat something else and maintain that chain until the following day in order to remotely have any impact whatsoever......

So, how does global warming work?  We got these ridiculous reflecting light graphs that exclude the fact that CO2 also reflects light upwards (if at all) in order to heat something up...  Then you got the THERMAL BLANKET thing which also doesn't hold water because the higher the elevation, the less heat anyway due to the fact that air itself is less dense.....  So, how in the world can anyone even remotely associate global warming to CO2?????  HOW???

  7. Thought - No big deal.  This is just one below average winter, and has absolutely no relevance to the truth of global warming.  Any scientist who looks at the data knows that.

Weather can overcome global warming for a short time.  It happened in 1982, 1991-1992, 1999-2000.  EVERY TIME global warming came back stronger than ever.  Proof.

As long as we keep making greenhouse gases in enormous amounts, global warming will dominate in the long run.  It's simple physics.

There's a reason this is not front page news, and it's not some imaginary conspiracy.  It's no big deal.

  8. What the NOAA article ACTUALLY says is that the winter was the coolest since 2001, but the 16th warmest since they've kept records.  So the warming trend continues.
