  1. not many I hope.Potty train your dog-shampoo your carpet-buy febreez and spray .Problem solved.tilks Mom

  2. Yes i had this problem with our Springer when he was a puppy, we would have the pads down but he would half wee on them and half on the carpet. You can buy this Odour remover stuff from pet shops and you can also use white vinegar to neutralise the smell (my vet told me this), but we took the carpets up and put wood flooring down in the end. We have a male dog and the smell of his wee was very strong. If the dog can smell their own urine they are more likely to wee there again and again. I would suggest new carpet or wooden flooring if you are thinking about replacing yours?? Thanks

  3. My dog always wants to pee on two certain chairs in our house.  So annoying!!  But I just steam clean it and it takes the smell out.

  4. If you clean it up immediately, your carpet shouldn't smell. Get a cleaner made specifically for pet stains (such as SimpleSolution or Nature's Miracle); those use enzymes to neutralize the odor while also cleaning the stain.

And if you want to be extra sure the carpet is clean, once your dog is housebroken, rent a carpet cleaner (most grocery stores and hardware stores have them for rent), and you can get the cleaning solution specifically for pet odors.

  5. Oh yeah,I deal with that. I use febreze, for pet odor. I get the one for your floor and fabrics, and the one for air. It works well.

  6. I've found that the only way to get rid of the smell is to have your carpets professionally deep cleaned.

We always spot treat when there's an accident and have the carpets cleaned every few months (depending on the frequency of the accidents).

  7. Natures miracle sold at pet smart.  Odor mute, sold at feed stores or dog.com.  Out, sold at walmart. Equalizer, I am not sure where that is sold.

  8. Thankfully, no, not since the dogs have become housebroken.  When we did have a problem, I used Nature's Miracle, an enzyme cleaner that eliminates odor and stains.

  9. There are products out there that will eliminate the odor.  After all of our fosters we just tore the carpet out, we now have hard wood downstairs so no more odor.

  10. I think everyone has had to deal with this sometime or another. It is all part of training a dog.

Do you really think we're all going to answer with " Yep, my house smells god awful but you get use to it." Most of us spend a lot of time making sure our homes do NOT smell.

  11. Wash them and hang them outside to dry.  You may have to spray them with an odor killing spray and then wash them again and hang them out, but definitely hang them outside to dry.  Putting them in the dryer will only cement the smell into the rug.

  12. Shampoo them! I use pine sol ot lysol add it to the water! It smells good and kills germs!
