This is a white, 70's-ish installed bathtub. I just need a rough estimate from a pro, or someone who's recently had one re-glazed. thanks!

  1. If you do it yourself, Rust-o-eum makes a kit for less than US$30. And it does work, but it is work too. I have done three myself and without power tools it takes time and sweat.

Have also bought a couple for clients. One was $350 for a tub like yours and another was an insert that was glued over not only the tub but the entire surround also. It was $1800. I know of more expensive treatments but have not actually seen the results. You can see there is quite a variance. Your best bet is to have a couple/few contractors come out and give you estimates AND referrals. Yes, they will only give you positive referrals, but talking to the past customers can be beneficial.

  2. Well we recently looked into this ourselves and we were told that it depended on the size of the tub, and how much prep work needed to be done before hand, the price was app. 300-800 dollars, and while that may seem expensive that was a heck of alot cheaper than replacing the tub altogether which was about 10,000 dollars and bathfitters wanted I believe 1500.00-2000.00 to do an overlay, so anyway you look at it this is your cheapest route and it can last long just as long as you take the proper care of it.

    hope this helps

  3. around $140-$200

  4. My across the street neighbor did this about 5 years ago for $259.00

  5. maybe like...250 max when i did it
