  1. Dear Curling Eyelashes Help,

like the many answers above replying to you. You have been doing various deadly mistakes...

    1) Crimping your lashes after mascara is applied

RISK: Lashes moisten with mascara might stick onto the curler. In turn you might rip them off your eyelid when in a rush; or weaken the lash hair structure causing them to break at point of stress (stress on the hair)

    2) Using a heated curler through heat from a hair dryer.

RISK: Burning your own eyelid skin. Weakening of the hair follicle coz of the constant pressure and over heating.

    3) The heat from the hair dryer will slowly degrade the rubber bung on your curler, damaging its use.

Attached is a link to an article I have already answered someone earlier 2 days ago.

Follow it and you'll find a better way to keep your lashes healthy and your curls up longer.

  2. Well maybe you could try a different mascara.. i use maybelline lash stylist and i LOVE it! You could also try curling your eyelashes before you put your mascara on so maybe itll hold it

  3. You may have a problem with weak or damaged lashes. Try to restore them using this product (which goes with your heated eyelash curler anyway). Hot Lashes® Nourishing Eyelash Oil.

Also, I always put my mascara on after curling. Putting mascara on first can damage your lashes or pull them out.

  4. my eye lashes were the same way so i just used any kind of mascara and when i put it on my lashes i hold the brush to my lashes for about 30 sec. so u give it enough time to dry in that position u want it.

  5. You should never curl your eyelashes after you've applied make-up!  It gives them that line and doesn't make them look like they have a smooth curl.

I use a regular eyelash curler, start at the base and press down for a couple seconds.  Then move out on your eyelashes a little more and press down for a couple more seconds.  I do that three or four times, then I apply the mascara.

This site seems pretty helpful: http://www.ehow.com/how_158_apply-mascar...

  6. I always curl my lashes first then apply mascara. Waterproof mascaras hold the curl better.

  7. Curl your eyelashes BEFORE you use the mascara and hopefully that will work better, also the way your doing it by using mascara first can sometimes make your eyelashes come out when using the curlers.

  8. It's pointless curling your eyelashes AFTER you apply mascara!

    1. mascara makes your eyelashes brittle, meaning they're much more likely to snap or weaken when you curl them (especially with a heater curler)

    2. Mascara sets your eyelashes in shape, mascara AFTER curling will help it hold in place

    3. Its far better to do 3 or 4 5-second curls working up you eyelashes than 1 long clamp which just bends them upwards.

  9. you should start by curling your eyelashes first and start at the root of your lashes and hold the curler there for 10 seconds then curl half up your lashes and hold it there for 5 seconds then curl just below the tips and hold it there for 2 seconds.

then apply a lash curling mascara that won't clump. (i love lashblast from covergirl)

also try not to apply too many coats of mascara because that can add weight to your lashes causing them to uncurl. and to make your eyelashes softer, less britle, and more flexible. apply a little vaseline to them at night. and the vaseline will come off when you wash off your morning cleanser and pat dry your face with a towel. good luck i hope this helps :)

  10. You should be applying the mascara after you curl your lashes. You should also try using a mascara that is specifically for curling. I prefer Maybelline mascara to any other brand, even more expensive ones. I really like sky high curves and they also have XXL Curl power which I have not tried, but I have tried XXL in waterproof and washable and liked both of them a lot. Look for mascaras that are specifically for curling.
