Curling thick hair help??

i have thick hair and i want to curl it. i just got it cut so its only about an inch longer than shoulder length. using a medium-barrel curling iron i'm about to curl it any tips? my hair's naturally wavy but i straightened it this morning. i have got2b curlvacious curl iron styler protecting spray. anything else i should use? any curling tips?

i have like strait hair but my hair is really thick and there is  a lot of it lol.. I'm like one of those troll dolls in the morning.. but when i want to like curl or like do beach waves in my hair first i straited it with a straighter so like everything is even and easy to work with.. then like take your curling iron and like start with small pieces ad like hold for 10 seconds. and DO NOT get it too close to your head lol i did that once and it got stuck lol. u also can use straighter like if you have the chi to curl and beach waves. good luck!
