Curly hair help, urgent!!!?

i have curly hair, but i don't know what to do with it. i just got it cut shoulder-length with layers, and i have some gel to put in it that the hair person told me to. she said i should wash my hair, then kind of scrunch it and put the gel in and let it dry like that. but i don't know how to do it. do i put the gel in when my hair is wet? do i scrunch my hair before or after i put the gel in? it's just a quarter-sized glob of gel...

ADVICE PLEASE? the first day of school is tomorrow and i was going to wear my hair straightened but it's just gotten frizzy because my hair was done yesterday, and it will look too **** to wear to school by tomorrow. first day of school...AH!

advice please?? anyone have any knowledge of hair?

To scrunch your hair put about a quarter sized amount of gel in your hand. Work it through your wet hair then scrunch it by taking the ends of your hair and pushing them up to your head. When your hair is scrunched with the gel in it let it dry. Avoid touching it because that causes frizz. After it's dry if you still notice frizz work a very small amount of shine serum through your hair. Avoid the roots so it doesn't look greasy. If you don't have shine serum, rub regular body lotion on your hands and run it over your hair to smooth it.

Just wash the hair and then dry it out pulling it down by the comb. But take small locks of hair. The result should be satisfying.

Shampoo and condition, do not put the gel on damp hair, let it dry a little with your towel, put on the gel and scrunch with your towel, but do not rub because it can cause frizzy-ness. Let air dry and if your hair comes out 'crunchy' scrunch your hair until it feels soft and smooth again.

ok so when you get out of the shower you towel dry you hair until it is damp (not wet)

they put gel in it and scrunch your hair  with your fingers for about 5 minutes.

Then you can either blow dry it or or let it air dry.

Do NOT sleep on it or it comes out as dreads!
