Curragh Kewell expected to win The Williamhill.com Grand Prix Heat 1
Curragh Kewell is tipped to win The Williamhill.com Grand Prix Heat 1 at Sunderland in England on Saturday, June 30, 2012. A cash prize of £150 will be awarded to the winner of the Grade OR event.
Although the competition in the 640 metres flat race is expected to be a close one, Curragh Kewell is carrying a very good momentum right now, thus will make life extremely hard for his opponents. Moreover, he has got plenty of experience and will be a very good choice for the punters.
The D. Childs’ trainee made his debut in 2010 and took part in a lot of trial events back then. His performances in them were good, but he did not take part in competitive racing until March last year. He ran in a Grade A2 event and performed decently in it, finishing third in the end.
The white and fawn dog’s first Grade OR race was at Sheffield and he managed to finish fourth in that event. He was given a starting price of 3 to 1 back then and his performance was quite encouraging. He did not get a clean run otherwise he could have finished in the top three comfortably.
However, Curragh Kewell raced in a lot of events after that and enjoyed plenty of success as well. He is in decent form right now and managed to do well in a solo run recently.
In his most recent outing in this class, the Ballymac Kewell’s son out of Ballymac Diane was not given the best odds for victory. In fact, he was one of the least favourite runners to finish in the top three. However, he performed brilliantly and secured the second place in the end.
On the other hand, the bookies have got more confidence in the abilities of Jazz Apollo, despite the fact that he was unable to deliver a solid result in his most recent race. His form is still not bad at all, as he has been continuously finishing in the top three in this class.
The M. Wallis’ trained hound finished fourth in his most recent Grade OR outing and will need a big improvement in order to shine at Sunderland today.
