If a single person's income was 3,500 pounds a year, would they be considered rich? What about if they made 12,000 a year?

  1. Yes, they'd be considered wealthy.  Mr Darcy had an income of £10,000 a year, and incited transports of joy in Mrs Bennet, who thrilled over the amount of pin money her Lizzie would have.  Mr Bingley had £5,000 a year, and was also very well off.
