Where would I go about transfering US dollars to Australian Dollars (inexpensively)?

  1. yeah you can do it at the airport which is usually the best exchange rate. then the next best is those currency exchange places you find in some travel agencies. then the banks, they usually have the worst. as my hubbie is american we are constantly coming back and forth.


  2. You could order Aussie Dollars at your local bank, or you can change at airport, or you can change US dollars when you are over here.  Our exchange rate is there is 95 cents Australian to $1.00 US at the moment.

  3. If you are talking about transferring as opposed to exchanging, you will need a recipient bank account in Australia.

    This can be in your name or anyone else's - how do you think international trade works.

    Then you go to your home bank, tell them the details of the recipient bank account, how much you want to transfer and there you go!

    If you open the account once you are in Australia, just write to your home bank with the details as above. Easy stuff.

  4. You can do that right at the airport before your flight over.only a 2 or 3 dollar charge enjoy the trip.
