Current Events??????

Question

for my Current Events class we have to write a current events paper, i was wondering if u could help me pick one thing to do, theres a whole bunch ill name a couple Gas prices, politics and Olympics are there anymore really improtant ones if so please tell me about them :)

The problem with choosing a current event is that many people have emotional responses to them "especially teachers"  If you have an opinion which they find offensive, it may effect your grade.  Teachers are likely to believe that high gas prices are the fault of the federal government or some global economic conspiracy.  I have even talked to teachers who believe that President Bush somehow is financially benefiting from rising oil prices. Your best bet is to find something that your teacher is not likely to have an opinion about.

I suggest the Olympics.  One good story is how Xinhua (the Chinese state-run media agency) has been caught editing it's own archives trying to cover-up the age controversy involving the Chinese women's Gymnastics team.  Since the story is relatively new and the facts will never come out, your spin on the story can't be right or wrong.  You can't go wrong.

I got a good one for you that I guarantee nobody else will do. 1 because the government likes to pretend it doesn't exist. 2 Not a whole lot of people know about it until it happens to them. It is the true story of how DHS / CPS steals children for Federal Grant Money. If you will google "A Carrot Among The Sticks" it is a pamphlet put out by the federal government on how to steal children and put them up for adoption just so they can get federal grant money. Most people think that if someones kids are taken by DHS it is because the parents are bad. What they don't know is that it is not always true. DHS workers are told how to take them and then how to make up lies to convince the judge they did the right thing they will even doctor drug test to make a clean parent show dirty and look like a drug addict. Their are several news stories on U Tube you can find them under DHS or CPS Corruption. I guarantee this is one story that you will be the only one doing and will be for sure an original and should impress your teacher.
