I currently studied at university and failed a course. I have a BTEC/ A levels. I do not wa to study and i am 19 years old. I am currently living with parents. I am trying to find a job but it is hard because i am Homosexual. Do you know where i can get a house to live in and where can i get some allowance to live in, my parents also get allowance such as Benefits.

I think getting a job moving out from my parents home will help, because they want me out

Does anyone know what allowance i can get a week, etc Job sekeers allowance, an can get a house also?

Does being Homo stop you from getting a job, i am not scared i can face the world?

  1. well my son failed a Uni course...so he took a different one - why don't you?? - don't give up on yourself & don't plan a life on benefits!!

it does not matter if you are homosexual...that will not stop you getting your degree & a good job one day!

  2. You can only go onto the housing list and wait.  If you are homeless, then you will be given priority, possibly a flat.  I believe that job seekers' allowance is around £54 a week but you would get help with your rent also.  Homosexuality has no bearing on your ability to do a job and companies are not allowed to discriminate.

  3. Being homosexual does not stop anyone from getting a job, just as anything else, age, s*x e.t.c can't because employers cannot discriminate...... and if they do you get to sue their a*s lol!

i know it's hard to say but just take a breather. I am a natural worrier and become a stress head like all the time.

Firstly, your exam result, it's in black and white and in the past. If failing has knocked whatever plans you have, just retake them, (easier said than done, i know) But if it is what you want to do do it.

So you cant re take them, take something different or just be glad you had 'uni' experience and get a job.

Have your parents said they want you out. Any reason? just asking as i miss read people sometimes.

You can claim for benefits its on this website jobcentreplus, thats got lots of info, job seekers allowance for example, it isn't alot you get but think also if youre someone that pays rent, i think they help you will that and perhaps pay some council tax for you.

If you get a job anywhere doing anything. There is cheap accomadation, in ways of a house share where you have your own bedroom and share the kitchen bathroom and living room for example and that can be as cheap as £50 a week.

But don't be afraid of your sexuality, if you are comfortable then who gives a stuff of what anyone thinks.

    Best of luck!

  4. Going to make it short and sweet. Homosexuality has nothing to do with it. Get a job, plenty out there. Get scholarship. plenty out there. Get a grant, plenty out there. Live on campus, plenty out there. Work on campus, off campus, Son did it. Daughter worked her way through college with 2 children and a husband w/ NO BENEFITS. where do you think the benefits come from? sorry but I was a single mother (dead beat daddy) with 2 children raised them by myself w/ NO BENEFITS. It can be done. worked my way through school, own  business for 19 years now did it w/ NO BENEFITS. is there a will? there is a way! good luck . God Bless you!
