  1. Business Section of NYTimes (http://www.nytimes.com) is pretty easy to understand and relevant.. we usually discuss the headlines in my undergrad macro classes. Oil prices, subprime, inflation and unemployment are pretty intuitive topics..

  2. My first answer would be to go to your local news stand or local library and get the latest copy of The Economist, a weekly news magazine with a strong emphasis on economics and business - it's the best in the world.

They have an on-line presence, but I don't know how many of their articles are available for free:

    http://www.economist.com/

Otherwise, most of the trustworthy international news organizations have a business section on-line:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/defa...

    http://www.nytimes.com/pages/business/in...

    http://www.iht.com/pages/business/index....
