Current events project ideas?

I'm in high school and I don't have any ideas for my current event project. Its really long and lasts 50 days. Each day you have to write an article related to your opinionated topic. WHich in total brings your article count to 50. I was thinking of doing my opinion on the Iraq War, but it seems like Iraq ain't in the news these days. Any ideas

Foodgrain shortage and blame game between the developed countries and developing countries.

Recent recession in outsourcing

Try doing it on the housing situation.  There are tons of articles on foreclosures and what not, the real estate problem is a huge thing right now.

Do your project on global warming. This topic has many things to write about, you could observe it, research it, watch it, read about it, or see it on television.  It is a MAJOR issue today, you'll be surprised what you learn... =O
