Clarke said that the startling performance in the One Day International series against rivals http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 has given the side a lot of confidence going into the mega event.
“After our defeat in the Ashes, it was really good that we turned the tide and that has given us a lot of confidence,” said Clarke.
After losing the much-celebrated 2010-11 Ashes series, Michael Clarke-led Australia made a strong comeback by thrashing England 6-1 in the seven-match ODI series.
Most of the players in Australia’s 15-man World Cup squad have experience of playing in the Subcontinent conditions due to their participation in the Indian Premier League and the inaugural Champions Trophy. According to Clarke, this factor
adds to Australia’s prospects in the mega event.
The right-handed batsman said that the side has many great individual performers but it should play as one unit in a bid to lift the coveted for the record fifth time.
“We have great individual players but a team wins a World Cup when the whole team plays well together,” said the 29-year-old.
The Australian middle-order batsman has so far played in only one World Cup in 2007 where he compiled a tally of 436 runs at a terrific average of 87.20. Clarke said that the Subcontinent tracks are more or less similar to those used in
