Do you have a zoology degree or a biology degree? Do you have training to work with animals? If not, you are not going to be able to work with primates.

You can look for zoos in large cities in New England that house primates, and look for ways you can volunteer at those zoos -- you won't be working with the primates, but you might be able to be an educational volunteer, who stands outside primate enclosures and educates the public about them. Zoos would be impressed if you had done research on your own to know more about various primates (their habitats, their social structures, how one group of primates differs from others, etc.).
