Now I have decided that I want to be a teacher, instead of just a teachers aide. Should I go ahead and change? Or can I finish this and then what should I take for my bachlers degree?

  1. For general career info:  http://www.bls.gov/oco and can search 'teachers' or such.  I would work as a teacher's aide first and find out if that's your niche.  I'd worked as a teacher's assistant and while I enjoyed the job, I couldn't see myself doing that on a full-time basis with having to teach the required material in addition to the classroom management.  The experience and knowledge that I got, however, was priceless.

Please steer clear of those online, for-profit schools such as penn foster, stratford career, university of phoenix, kaplan, strayer, ITT tech, devry, capella and others as they are merely out to 'make a profit':  http://www.capellauniversitysucks.us

    http://www.ripoffreport.com and type into search.

    US colleges:  http://www.utexas.edu/world/univ

  2. go and finish your AA then simply transfer/apply to a university...you'll simply need another 2 years to earn a bachelors and then another year for teacher preperation (depends on the state).  Pay a visit to your advising services at your college.
