  1. Ok, go online and look at what she should be studying. Just google "7th grade curriculum" if you can't find anything in your school district site about curriculum. Then you can go to the library and check out books in whatever area of studies you choose to start off with. For example...my 7th grader is currently studying religions and we just went to the library and picked out books on different religions then he writes a small essay on each one. For math I go and buy a workbook from a bookstore ($5.00). For science we use the world around us.... science is easy for 7th grade because they learn about their bodies which means trip to the library again. Now, I have found some great kids books that have helped us because they break things down really well. I have done this for 3 years and my kids are up with their fellow "public schoolers" of their grades, if not a little ahead. You can also use the internet for resources....lots of them! I'll post some sites for you...

  2. Try eBay.  I was able to buy four full years of curriculum for less than what my girls' book rentals used to be for one year.  She can easily get everything she needs for under a hundred dollars.  After she gets the main books and workbooks- Grammar, Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies/Geography-she can then supplement each subject with library books, used books stores and even check local thrift stores like Goodwill.  Good luck to your sister and it's nice to know you are so concerned for her and her education.

  3. try to go on amazon they have any textbooks

if uses and is in good condition it starts from like $1 to $10.

    try it!

    i feel so bad

  4. Ok i use this ALL the time cause i know how she feels! If you have a sams club they have school books for 10.00 bucks! not kidding! i have been using the since i was in 1 grade! thay are great books! trust me.

  5. Amazon.com also provides used books, so she may want to check that site out.  She can also contact the Home School Coordinator from her school district.  If she doesn't have a name/number for that person, she can call the main office/switchboard.  The Coordinator normally knows of places where your sister's books may be purchased.
