Cursor jumps around. My cursor jumps all over the place for no reason - if my palms are resting on

Question

My cursor jumps all over the place for no reason - if my palms are resting on either side of the cursor pad, it triggers a jump - also if the cursor is on the window in which I'm typing it jumps to where the cursor is. I have to scoot the cursor off screen in order to type, although this doesn't always solve the problem. I can't type a sentence w/o it jumping - anyone else have this problem? How can I fix this? thanx!

I have just bought an Aspire7720G laptop and have the same cursor jumping problem - just installed the 'touchfreeze' software as suggested and it seems (fingers crossed) to have solved the problem. Excellent!! It has been driving me insane!! Many thanks for the help :)
