Curtis Lovejoy and Masaki Fujitani pocket Men’s 100m freestyle gold medal: 2011 Jimi Flowers Classic
Curtis Lovejoy and Masaki Fujitani pocketed gold medals of the Men’s 100m freestyle event in their Multi-Disability categories, on the final day of the 2011 Jimi Flowers Classic.
Lovejoy of City of Atlanta Dolphins-GA conquered the gold medal of the 100m event in the S2 category, by touching the wall in a time of 2 minutes and 43.87 seconds.
Moments later, Masaki Fujitani of Shadow Seals-PN dominated the Men’s equivalent event in the S6 category, by touching the wall in a wonderful time of 3 minutes and 10.81 seconds.
In the S7 discipline, USA Resident Team-CO’s 7-7-7 A Lamback was the first swimmer to appear on the finishing wall, as he concluded his meet in a time of 1 minute and 08.26 seconds. Alex E Dionne of Schroeder YMCA Swim Team-WI followed Lamback on the victory
stand, by touching the wall in a time of 1 minute and 14.14 seconds for the silver medal. J Kamber of USA Resident Team-CO was the third fastest swimmer to complete his swim, as he touched the wall in a fabulous time of 1 minute and 19.39 seconds.
Joe E Underwood of Swim Neptune-AZ followed Kamber on the finishing wall, as the fourth fastest swimmer and posted a time of 1 minute and 20.74 seconds. The fifth position went to Chris Junk of Shadow Seals-PN, who touched the wall in a fifth fastest time
of 2 minutes and 44.22 seconds.
In the S8 category, Tom F Miazga of Unattached amazed the arena with his impeccable swim of 1 minute and 09.58 seconds, to conquer the gold medal of the 100m event. Miazga was 0.06 seconds ahead of his following swimmer, 8-Sm7-Sb7 S Garcia-Tolson, who touched
the wall for the silver medal in a time of 1 minute and 09.64 seconds. Benjamin Ertman of All Star Aquatics earned the bronze medal in a time of 1 minute and 37.22 seconds.
The session concluded after the 100m freestyle final, while the winners received awards and accolades for superb swims in their respective meets.
