Curtly Ambrose deserved to be added in the ICC Hall of Fame, says Sir Vivian Richards - Cricket News Update

Former West Indian captain and one of the greatest batsmen of all times, Sir Vivian Richards, believes that former Caribbean fast bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Curtly-Elconn-Lynwall-Ambrose-c51793, deserved to be in the Hall of Fame of the International Cricket Council (ICC). He said that the governing
body of the sport has made an appropriate decision by adding the lanky fast bowler to the list of legends.
Ambrose was one of the most devastating new ball pair of all time with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625.
The tall fast bowler had tremendous accuracy, pace and was also able to move the ball off the pitch, troubling even the best of the batsmen with the bounce he used to generate because of his height.
Richards said that the tall fast bowler has been rightly awarded by ICC as he was not only a great fast bowler of his time but also a true gentleman. The former Caribbean captain is more happy because Ambrose hails from his island, Antigua.
“I just believe it is quite appropriate. Curtly has been magnificent, not only as a player but a magnificent individual over the years and anything that comes his way, being in the Hall of Fame, certainly as an Antiguan & Barbudan, I am ever so pleased and
happy for him,” Richards said.
The 47-year-old Ambrose played 98 Test matches for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 and grabbed 405 wickets at an amazing average of 20.99, to go with his 225 scalps in One Day International cricket.
Richards, who has also captained Ambrose in International and domestic cricket for a long time, said that the fast bowler is one of the best a captain can ask for. Whenever a captain gave him the ball, Ambrose used to do his best for the side.
“As one of the individuals, especially who I would have captained for a number of years, let me say that no one gave you more. He would put his heart on the line for you and not just for the cause he was representing but a very conscious man,” added the
former captain.
