The legendary fast bowler from the Caribbean, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 Cricket Board (WICB) and Chris Gayle will be resolved soon. Ambrose wants both parties to come to an agreement as it will be beneficial for national cricket.
The fast bowler has laid support towards the inclusion of Gayle into the side, as he believes that the personified batsman is a genuine match winner and on his day, can annihilate any bowling attack.
Speaking to Skysports, Ambrose said, “http://www.senore.com/Cricket/CH-Gayle-c1221 is one of those batsmen, who can dominate any bowling attack in world cricket. It’s a bit of shame that there is a conflict between him and the cricket board. I am just hopeful that whatever differences they have they can solve them quickly, because, Chris Gayle can be an asset for West Indian cricket.”
The Caribbean cricket has been on a downhill ever since senior players like Ambrose, Curtly Walsh and Brain Lara bid adieu to the game. The gangly pacer believes that it is the faulhttp://www.senore.com/Cricket/Thomas-George-Burrows-c93472 of West Indian board, as they did not foresee the future and failed to groom youngsters as they should have. Thus, Caribbean cricket finds itself lagging behind, whereas other countries are now far ahead.
Ambrose also shared his views on the current West Indies squad. The 47-year-old Antiguan feels that there aren’t many players in West Indian outfits who have leadership qualities.
However, Ambrose concluded that the current skipper of the Caribbean team, Darren Sammy, has the potential, and is doing a reasonable job with the team at his disposal.
“When you look at the (West Indian) line-up there aren’t many option and players who can lead the team. I think http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJG-Sammy-c1382 under the circumstances is doing a pretty good job. I think under this time it is difficult for him or any other captain to lead a team that is playing very poorly,” said Ambrose.
The 47-year-old, who was inducted in to the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Hall of Fame in 2011, holds true that Sammy can bring the glory days back to West Indian cricket, but for that to happen he needs some time and once he gets the support from his team, he will surely deliver the goods.
