  1. The formula for the angle of a banked curve is given by

    tan A = v^2/rg

    where

    A = angle of the bank

    v = velocity = 85 kph (given) = 23.61 m/sec.

    r = radius of curvature = 145 m (given)

    g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/sec^2 (constant)

    Substituting values,

    tan A = (23.61)^2/(145 * 9.8)

    tan A = 0.3923

    A = arc tan 0.3923

    A = 21.42 degrees
