Custom Cut chasing a hat-trick of victories by winning Family Day Sunday 15th July Handicap
Custom Cut is likely to give a tough time to his opponents in the Family Day Sunday 15th July Handicap at Fairyhouse in Ireland on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. The winning horse will get a cash prize of €8,970 in the end.
The 7 furlong event is scheduled to start at 14:35 GMT and six quality runners will be up against each other. However, the track will be heavy, which will favour Custom Cut more than anyone else. He might face some challenge from Suehail, who also likes
running in such conditions.
The bookmakers have given a general starting price of 3 to 1 to the favourite runner, who is carrying an excellent momentum right now. He has won a couple of back to back races and will be chasing a hat-trick of victories today. His supporters will be backing
him and the punters will also be risking some money on him.
The three-year-old gelding does not have a very good strike rate, as he has won just a couple of events out of 11 outings. However, he has finished runner up and third one time each, which proves that he is capable of fighting at the front with consistency.
Notnowcato’s son did not get off to an ideal start to his career, as he struggled for quite a few races. He first appeared onto the scene back in 2011, but was unable to get the attention of anyone, finishing 10th in his maiden race.
Things did not change for the George J. Kent’s trainee throughout his debut season and he kept on struggling until the end of the year. He worked hard and produced better results in the next season though, which would have boosted his confidence to a great
extent.
Although the Irish runner did not start the 2012 season well, he turned things around from his second race onwards, finishing runner up in it. He followed that performance with a third place finish and has now secured a couple of impressive victories.
Custom Cut will be partnered by young jockey, Ronan Whelan, who does not have a lot of experience, but certainly has the skills to guide his runner to the top.
