Custom Speakerbox help....?

I want to make a pair of custom speaker boxes for my apartment and i was wondering if is possible to make a speaker box out of plexiglass....? I want to put leds on the inside of it so they light up and maybe even make them blink to the beat of music.. any ideas would help greatly... thanks

It is possible to do almost anything, but Plexiglas is so soft that it would need to be 3 to 6 inches thick to make a speaker cabinet out of. For a speaker cabinet to work well it needs to be dense and rigid, Plexiglas is neither.
