Custom cakes for low price-bay area?

where is a place in the bay area that will make custom cakes for max price of $300 for 100 people?

I was intrigued by your question, and have been looking.  Frankly, it looks bleak.  I live in San Jose, and we used to have a little bakery (a real Mom and Pop.  The parents couldn't even speak English, so their daughter tended the front while they baked).  You could literally get anything done on a cake, and I had a couple of retirement cakes made up that were great.   Unfortunately, it closed after a large corp bought out the entire shopping center.  That seems to be the future of a lot of specialty stores.

I don't know exactly what you mean by custom, but try Costco.  They bake every day, and you can get anything written on the cake.  Or ask local people in your area.  There may be one Mom and Pop bakery left that's close to you
