Custom vehicle question - airbags required?

Question

I was reading that if I tag the vehicle after a certain date (says 1980-current), that I will be required to have air bags to make it legal on the road? The car is a complete build - no previous chassis to title it earlier. Will I be required to put in an airbag? State is FL.

I know, I need to call the DMV or state troopers, but they're close till monday.
