  1. Please wait, I'll get the manager and he can help you out. Even if the person had to come back at the end of the shift for them to count out the drawer to see if it was a 100. over, to find out where the mistake was. I prefer they count it a that time, so the person who made the mistake would not have a chance to take it home.

  2. The cashier should not say anything that will make things worse, instead tell the customer to wait for a while for the manager to come so that this matter can be rectified...If there is any security tape, then viewing of the tape is essential..

  3. The cashier should tell the customer to leave their name and a number to get in contact with them and at the end of the shift when the cashier counts the till if there is an overage of $100 then the situation will be rectified.

  4. Well, if you're counting out large amounts of money for a customer, you should do it infront of them, and count out loud as you're putting the notes down so that you can both see how much you are giving as change.  If this has already happened, I'd let your manager sort it out.  They should have better training if they're gonna stick you on a til.  They customer will probably end up getting the $100 if you can't prove that you gave it to her.

  5. If she was short changed $100.00 then that means that she paid with a bill that was greater than $100.00.( Not likely.) But I would tell the manager and I would do a drawer count.

  6. Say nothing. Get the manager involved, take a quick count of the register and find out.

  7. so how is it short changing over a $100, was the bill like a thousand dollars? not easy to shortchange that amount to one customer, i do think you are basically bored and made this up... but anyways, good effort

  8. at my store we have to tell the customer he or she needs to wait until we examine the security tapes to make sure that is what happened

  9. let me check the account books and receipts that the department has, and get in touch with u to return ur money.

  10. you should get management involved.  Usually the till is counted at the end of day and you can tell if customer told the truth if you have $100 more than you sold.

  11. what WJ said. This has always been the policy where I've worked.

  12. The cashier will have to call the manager are count the whole drawer to prove that the drawer is not over.
