  1. Fix the problem the customers are upset about. Ask the staff what they would do to fix the problems and try to implement them so the customers stop shouting and the sales staff doesn't have to hear it anymore. Have a meeting with the staff and fix the problems. Good luck!!

  2. My Dad used to be the Manager of a large grocery store.  If there was an altercation with a customer yelling at an employee needlessly, he would simply ask the customer to leave and to not come back.  His bosses completely backed him, though, which is a key to that strategy.  As the Manager though, it is your responsibility to redirect the attention to yourself if at all possible.

  3. When a customer bother to shout at the sales staff, there already indication that he/she is interested on the products. Try to find out the reason, and never take side. No everyone are unreasonable, if you can fix the problem and convince this customer to buy something for you, he/she will be a happy and return customer.

  4. take the customer to a quiet place and listen to his/her grouse and see if you can resolve it .

Then talk to your sales staff to ascertain truth of the matter ..

  5. Take the customer aside and speak to them privately.  Even if they' wrong its better to not make a scene.  Try to make it right for them so you keep they're business and they feel special like you really care (even if you don't). Most importantly don't let them berate your staff or convince you that you owe them something for free in all situations.  If talking doesn't help, polity ask the customer to leave.

  6. It really depends on what the customers are shouting about. Are their complaints legitamate? Are the sales people rude or inattentive? If so try positive reinforcment and motivating contests to help turn this around. Contests like highest sales, or customer compliments are good, and I've found that giving lotto scratchers are a cheap/fun prize. If the customers are yelling for another (perhaps not so apparent) reason things are trickier. Maybe adding small touches will help make a calmer environment: soft music, a comment box, warm colors and pleseant pictures. Usually a customer yells for a reason. I recomend the Video "Give um the Pickle" for motivating staff to deal with unhappy and upset customers, its great no matter the reason that customers are upset. THe video information is at: http://www.giveemthepickle.com/?atc=BIZ&...

  7. offer the customers free gifts and cash vouchers . Unpleasant situation will defuse without any hesitation .

  8. easy get more "good" staff and fire the ones that are being shouted at.
