Customs charge how long do i have to pay??

my parcel was missing eventually got code and then they found it there is a customs charge how long do i have to pay as i dont know how long its been sat there. and what happens to it if its gone??

I think you have misunderstood.  I think the charge will be a one off for the duty that is due on the imported goods.
