If I wanted to bring in 10 pairs of UGG boots from China, what kind of taxes should I expect? Like even just an estimate or range would be nice because I really have no clue haha. Thanks.

  1. BTW, you can't ask for the box to be marked "gift" when it isn't.  In the US, it's a felony to lie on government forms.

  2. You can check out the following Harmonized Tax Code that will give you a good idea on what the duty tax will be.

    www.usitc.gov

I think you will need to review Chapter 64 that is where all the information on the shoes/boots are located at.

Since I am not sure what materials you orders to create the boot I am not sure what tax you will get.  I seen some up to 48% of invoice costs.

Another good way is to ask what the export code is that your factory shipped on.

  3. For only 10 pairs,

you are at the mercy of the customs officer on that day:

    * may not ask you to pay anything; especially you mark "GIFT FOR FAMILY MEMBERS & FRIENDS".

    * may ask you to pay up to 20% of the invoice.

Remember to do the declaration cleanly; then the chance not to pay anything is better.
