  1. In the old conventional ways of shipping before the age of container the terms state as CIF, FOB (Currency, Insurance & Freight or Free On Board) from the point of shipment to their final destination. CIF explain all while Free On Board says that freight to be borne by consignee at final destination.  In the age of containerlisation there FCL or LCL (Full conatiner load or Loose conatiner load) beside these the CIF & FOB still applies.  Beside shipping FCL there is a Terminal Handling Charges to be borne by consignee to have their cargoes release, while is applies to LCL beside THC there is a LCL unstuffing charges for your goods and also a warehouse charges if you failed to collect your cargoes within three days of the unstuffing done.So make sure that all should be in black & white stating the terms and condition of your shipment or pay a bit more for door to door services operator which take care of everythings when it arrives. This applies around the world in the shipping community.
