Cut after giving a natural birth, sorry if TMI?

I gave birth 5 months ago, when i was in the hospital i notice that one of my labia got torn all the way in half, i was so so so upset i cried and it hurt. the guy who delivered my baby said he didnt want to put in stitches because it would cause it to less elastic or something..idk! ok well i'm healed but like when i have s*x it getss raw all over again because its basically torn in half. i know this sounds really ad, after it healed, it really doesnt look that bad, really..but it very bothersome having s*x. i just want the part "hanging" to get cut off. can a rg ob/gyn do this or will i have an expensive bill at a plastic surgeons office? would insurance cover this? thanks sorry if this was gross

I would report the dr. that tore you, and sue him to make him pay for the reconstruction or removal, whatever the plastic surgeon recommends. I wouldn't let the dr get away with it especially after pain and suffering.

I am really sorry this happened to you. Sometimes doctors get lazy and give excuses, as yours did. You will have to have it repaired, soon.I have heard of this surgery before and it is simple and successful. If I may offer you some advise it would be to use the services of a experienced midwife if you birth again. They are far more concerned about the whole woman and are excellent at preventing these types of situations. Many people are have been groomed to feel that they can use only doctors, but I have seen the carelessness from the medical side and I would always choose a midwife for a safe, healthy birth. Some of them even accept insurance.
