Cut off jeans?

Question

i have cut off a bunch of my daughter's jeans and made shorts for her out of them to play in through the summer. we were thinking that we could make something out of the leftover end peices, but what? any crafty people have any idea's? it would be a fun summer activity, and it's a lot of material...i hate to see it just thrown in the trash! ideas?

On DIY network I once saw a mail/note station  made out of an old pair of jean legs.  It was easy and came out pretty cool.  My 9 yr old wants to try it out!  You can hang them up just about anywhere, and they keep misc. items picked up off the floor.

Bags and purses made out of denim are always cute - and useful!  

Also, you can make patchwork pillows.  Mix denims or mix them with other fabrics to add color and interest.  You can embellish with buttons and embroidery - it would be a fun project.  Look up crazy quilts pics for ideas on embroidery and embellishing.

Finally, book covers for precious books.  Again, denim is strong, and can easily be embellished.

Denim rag quilts are warm, sturdy and easy.  They take a lot of jeans legs, though.

I made a handbag out of my son's pants legs when I shortened his jeans. Throw pillows are another good idea. Tug toys for the dog.

I've used jeans-leg cutoffs to make cushion covers for my dogs. They're also great for making picnic blankets (without batting) or kids' nap mats (with batting). And they make super shopping totes.

use small pieces to make a beach bag or small purse. i did that with my niece and she loved it!! also, you could use it to make hair pieces. just go to a craft store and ask them how to make it!! its really fun
