Question:

Cute car ideas for a 16-year-old?

I'm turning 16 in a month or so, and my parents are planning on getting me a car.

I want something nice, like a BMW or a Mercedes... but I want it to be cute. I love the BMW Z4, but my Mom doesn't like it.

Could anyone offer some cute cars ideas (that are relatively safe-ish, if possible)?

  1. BMW Z4 sucks. Don't get it at any chance. Try the 3series convertible. 328ci or 335ci looks great. They are more powerful than the Z4 and more luxurious.

    I'm getting a 335ci for my 18th birthday. I took a tour drive and I loved it.

Its pretty strong also, great handling too.

Mercedes aren't so great unless you're going to buy a SL or S class. The rest aren't so great.

  2. Don't; listen to COMOSS or AManda, d**n people whats with all the hatin!.... Yo amanda whos the one showing off their ride? and your talking?, if she got the money, dont be hatin.... Sorry im pissed cuz I got a BMW as my first and people would hate

I would get a 3 series, and no your not crazy, as now I see many people your age are getting nice cars... I was actually in your postition and I can't stand people who hate, cuz if u got the parents who got the money, they mind as well buy you a nice car

  3. wow.

    you're so rich.

    let's get CLK 220 Merscedes.

you will be very great with this car!

wow 16 year old girl with Mers.haha

I worked hard 2 years to buy my Acura.

and I enjoy that cuzz that's my money.hihi

  4. get a mini cooper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

if you dont like the mini, and you want a "cute" car then look at super small cars like the mini or a bug.

  5. first of all .......just so u know that u DO sound like a spoiled little brat.

2nd of all.......you are way to immature to even think about a z4!!!!!!!

    I have a 2008 z4 fully loaded (sport package) black/black leather

    paddle shifters,sport drive ect..........................

It's too powerful of a machine for someone like you

If you really want a cute car  look @ the mazda miata mx5  I also had one those as well 2006

  6. You might try getting a bmw z3 or a 3 series if not a mini S is also a good car.

  7. GET THE AUDI TT

  8. I agree with the Audi TT person. Find like a 2004 Audi TT and it will be less than $20k. They're awesome cars.

Or some others I think you might like:

    2006-2008 Saab 9-3 Aero

    2005+ Audi A4

    BMW 3-Series

    Mercedes Benz C-Class

I'll add more if I think of any...

Good luck on the decision and enjoy!

  9. something that's cute? how bout you worry about the ridiculous insurance costs that will plague your parents when you get it? its a bit contradictory when your thinking of getting a z4 and you want a safe car. do your self and everyone around you a favor and just get a normal, low-profile car that's easy on insurance until you finish college, then get whatever you want. geez, whatever happened to down-to-earth values.

  10. ooohhhh i think you should try for a BMW X5

theyve always caught my eye haha

but if you would consider something outside bmw or mercedes

try a mazda CX-7!! my parents just bough me a brand new one today for my 16th birthday!

it's a really cute car and it has a really speedy engine.

  11. I hear where you are coming from.  I saved up for years and years and my first car was a BMW, however. . .It was a 85' 735i so was older but I loved BMW.  The 3 series is a great car for being younger, first time driver and not to expensive.  Just remember you will need  to keep up on the maintenance which can be pricey but its like that on any car you get these days.  Year wise its up to you as well, everyone has different taste.  Personally I love the older box style:

They are just a lil more different since every ones car is more round now days.  They don't do to bad on gas either.  Then there is the newer rounder body style:

Expect to pay from 2000.00 for the older style and on up to 6500.00 for the some what newer.  I would stick to the late 80's and on up to the mid 90's though for a first.  They are great cars and what I want my son to have as a first car, they are safe and dependable and thats what I love.  Good luck and hope you find what you are looking for.  Try looking at some different ones on autotrader.com and cars.com

  12. 635csi baby.. all the way..
