Cute & cheap dorm decorating ideas?

I'm getting ready to go to college, and my roommate would like me to look for some cute and affordable ideas for decorating our room. We'd like things that involve using pictures/lights/anything to brighten up the space! I'd love to hear your creative ideas!

I biggest thing you have to remember about a dorm room is the space. Meaning that you should get one of the beds that are really high up so under neath you can put you computer and desk. For cute ideas just look at some pics of what dorms look like and pick what you like.

Right now many stores, like Target, Bed, Bath & Beyond, etc, are having dorm room promotions.  In fact some of the stores advertise that if you buy online, you can have your choices sent to your dorm.  That way you don't have to transport all that stuff from your place to your school.  

My personal suggestion would be to coordinate with your roommates so you don't wind up with duplicates or things that just don't go together.  It might be wise to buy just a few things before you get there and then order more items once you're there and can actually check the space out.
