Cutlery is cloudy and dirty,

Question

Cutlery is cloudy and dirty, some food is dried onto knives and forks. Cups and glasses are cloudy and not clean on inside. Coffee or tea stains are not removed. Plates and soup bowls seem OK , and water is draining properly.We have tried with less soap, more soap, gels, tablets and powders but to no avail. The dishwasher does not clean dishes etc, as as it once did.There doesn't appear to be any problem with the 'cycle'.The machine is about nine or ten years old, and has run fine until very recently.We can find no way of 'cleaning' filters or removing impellers to check for gunk build up.
