I have to cut a hole in the side of a trailer to install a light. It is made from some type of reinforced fiberglass. Any help is greatly appreciated. I would say it is a good 3/4 of an inch thick.

  1. drill hole in center to get jig saw started then cut to outside of circle then cut in sections

  2. First off I would draw a circle on the side of the trailer the size of the hole you want to make. Then I would put blue painters tape around the circumference of the hole to limit the cracking as you drill through the material. Get a hole saw from the hardware store( one with a drill bit inside so that the hole saw does not wander off target. make sure that you check on the other side of the wall in the interior so that you do not hit any other services or anything. Drill from the outside of the wall to the inside. If you drill from the inside to the outside , there is a good chance that the hole will look funky.

    Hope this helps

  3. High speed steel hole cutter of the correct diameter at a low speed.-Wear a mask and goggles-the dust is a real irritant.
