Question:

Cutting from corn plant?

My corn plant has been not doing very well at all. I most likely over watered it because at the time I did not know what it was. One of the "stems" was soft and rotting so I cut off the stem at the base of the leaves and decided to stick it in water. It rooted much to my surprise! What is my next step in getting this to grow. I have about 2 inches of healthy stem and 5 leaves. Should I just plant it in some good potting soil?

  1. Yes. Put it in potting soil, and give it a dose of light strength (I use miracle-grow or generic equivalent) fertilizer. Check out this site for excellent info. on rooting cuttings....
