  1. A little red meat with the visible fat trimmed off shouldn't be too harmful. It's best to go for the better quality meats ie avoid processed and go for lean mince or steak etc, as the former inevitably will have more salt and other unknown fats and preservatives.

Good for you for stepping up your exercise regime; i do the same and swimming as well is excellent all round exercise [and not so hard on the knees!]

a good balanced diet with regular exercise should get you results. Be aware though that muscle weighs more than fat so you may notice you level off after the initial weight loss. Don't get on the scales every five minutes either...you'll only lose motivation! steady but sure weight loss is the key...and enjoying treats in moderation!

ps i'm just someone like you who likes to stay fit!

  2. Not necessarily.   Poultry is not always lower in fat / calories than red meat.  Unless you get extra-lean turkey, it can have more fat than beef - and any dark meat poultry is higher in fat.  Buy 96/4 ground sirloin, which is actually labeled "heart healthy";  or steaks that have very little marbling (skirt, flank).  Extra-lean pork is also a very healthy meat for you........

  3. Some people think that red meat is not healthy, but this is because some people eat too much of it. One to two servings a day is needed for good health though :) Red meat contains zinc, which is important for healthy skin and for a healthy immune system. It is an essential source of iron, which the human body needs to make haemoglobin. This is a substance that helps to generate red blood cells, and is used to carry oxygen around the body. Meat is one of the main and rare sources of “complete” protein (meaning it contains all the amino acids that the body can not make on its own), which is needed for muscle and organ health.

  4. cutting out the red me that is hormone raised................that is bad..........................don't cut it out completley.......some is good for you GOD MAD US AS MEAT EATERS

  5. Its fine, i guess.. As long as you can get the nutrients from somewhere else.

red meat once a week is recommended though.

  6. Cow sucks for you. Honestly. Research it. I only recommend buffalo, elk and deer if you are interested in red meat. Chicken isn't the best meat source either. Pork being worse. Too hard for the body to break down.

Stick with fish and game meat. Stay away from cow and pork for sure.

  7. red meat makes you fat

    so dont eat it

but you can eat fish and chicken

  8. a little red meat will not hurt you.  It is actually good because there are vitamin and minerals that red meat has that helps the body.

  9.   Cutting red meat is good for you, but eating it once or twice a wk isn't bad. As far as ur workout is concerned, jogging takes time to work it's magic.

When I was younger, I did a combination of things from weight training, sit-up, and push-ups. Plus, I played football w/ friends.

My best advice I can give u is do a combination of exercises. Don't forget to eat beans, chicken, or yogurt to provide u with protein.

Also, there's tons of health info on the web, so go nuts.

  10. Exchanging red meat for poultry is not a bad thing - BUT, even with poultry it depends on how it is prepared and/or cooked. Deep fried with the skin on - you may as well eat a donut.

About the only vitamin you may have to suppliment when excluding red meat totally is B12, but thats not hard to do - tablets or marmite are available.

Eat plenty of fish (Not deep fried, sadly) as it is rich in Omega oils which are very beneficial, and try to find and alternative to butter (if you eat it)

A lot also depends on your age.  A teen needs more activity than an adult to maintain or tone the body.

    Bottom line, I guess is....

cutting out red meat will not hurt you ( as long as you replace the B12) BUT, it is not a 'fix-all' step - the jogging will help tremendously, and so will other steps.

find alternatives for salt, cheese, butter, fat's, etc

All of which are fine - but in small quantities.
